Igor Zaitsev (1938-). Grandmaster Igor Zaitsev is considered one of the most creative chess minds in the history of chess. He’s a descendant of an Armenian family. Zaitsev took part in six USSR chess championships, is best known for his contribution to opening theory and became one of the trainers of World Champion Anatoly Karpov.
