Balaji Daggupati (2005–) is an American chess Grandmaster who began playing chess at the age of five, inspired by his sister’s participation in school teams. He achieved the National Master title at 11, FIDE Master at 12, International Master at 16, and earned his Grandmaster title in 2022 after securing the necessary norms and surpassing the 2500 FIDE ratingthreshold. In 2022, Daggupati tied for third place in the U.S. Junior ChessChampionship and, as of April 2023, was ranked 47th on the FIDE Top 100 Juniors list. He began studying computer science at the University of Texas at Dallas in September 2023, also playing for the school’s chess team.
