David Craig Smerdon (born 1984) is an Australian chess Grandmaster and economist. He achieved his Grandmaster title in 2009 and has represented Australia in multiple Chess Olympiads. Smerdon has also authored chess literature, including “Smerdon’s Scandinavian” and “The Complete Chess Swindler.”
