About the players

Elina Danielian is an Armenian grandmaster born in 1978. She won the Armenian women's championship six times and reached the top 10 women chess rankings in October 2010. Her highest rating is 2390.
Her early career was very successful. She won the World Under-14 Girls Championship in 1992 and the World Under-16 Girls Championship in 1993. In 2001, she took first place at the European Women's Rapid Chess Championship in Minsk.
Danielian played for Armenia twelve times during the Women's Chess Olympiads. She also helped her team win gold at the 5th Women's European Team Chess Championship in Plovdiv 2003. More recently, she won the European Individual Chess Championship in 2021.
