Arthur Bisguier - photo by Arthur BisguierArthur Bernard Bisguier (1929–2017) was an American chess Grandmaster, renowned for his significant contributions to the game both as a player and promoter. He clinched the U.S. Junior Championships in 1948 and 1949, secured the U.S. Open Chess Championship titles in 1950, 1956, and 1959, and won the United States Chess Championship in 1954. Bisguier represented the U.S. in five Chess Olympiads and participated in two Interzonal tournaments (1955, 1962). In recognition of his lifelong dedication to chess, the United States Chess Federation honored him as the "Dean of American Chess" in 2005.
