      I first thought 1.Qxf8+ would be a solution, but then the I saw 2. …, Qe5. Very tricky!

    I am a rookie at this and don’t understand, after Qg8+ Kxg8 happens, why f7# puts the king in checkmate? Can’t the black king go back to Kh8 or Kg7?

      no because the bishop on b2 gives check on those squares
